SUMMARY:Parents Cafe: Summer Safety
DESCRIPTION:Summer Safety – Summertime brings such joys of playing in the water\, barefoot in the sand or mud\, and carefree time enjoying our friends and family.  Of course\, issues like safety and health are always paramount\, when talking about our kids!  We will be covering a variety of these issues\, so our families may enjoy the summertime ahead!  Topics from water safety\, car safety\, fireworks\, who is watching our kids if we’re not right there\, will be explored. We will be looking forward to “seeing you” remotely!\nOur Parents Café is more of a facilitated discussion instead of one of our regular trainings/webinars\, Training Credits will not be available.\nThe Parent Cafes are a monthly\, relaxed discussion around Parenting Topics. For nearly 30 years\, Carol has been a leader\, advocate\, educator and trainer around many social issues. She began at Methodist Hospital in the critical care areas. Then she was a primary educator for 13 years for Planned Parenthood around the issues of healthy sexuality\, birth control\, STD and sexual abuse prevention. In 2006\, she continued her work at Prevent Child Abuse Indiana\, training in a variety of safety topics. There she became a certified trainer in Darkness to Light (Stewards of Children) preventing child sexual abuse; as well as Nurturing Father’s\, Bully Safe\, and SafeTots.

DESCRIPTION:Topic:  SafeTots for Dads \nDate:   June 17\, 2021 \nTime:  6-7pm \nSpeaker:  Brian Carter\, LSW\, Dads Inc Program Director & PCAIN Educational Specialist \nDescription:  This presentation is centered around Dads and touches on a variety of safety issues\, including SIS/Abusive Head Trauma\, the Safe Haven Law\, Water Safety & Safe Sleep practices.  We will also touch on Firearm Safety and Know Your Partner/Caregiver. \nAudience: Adolescents\, Caregivers/Parents\, Community\, Professionals and especially for new Dads \nAn Assessment will be emailed to you after the training. Once you complete your Assessment our office will email you the Training Certificate within 12-24 business hours.
