DESCRIPTION:Topic:  Family Law Related Concerns\nDescription:  We will discuss family law related concerns including custody\, parenting time and guardianship.  This will include a general overview of commonly used legal terminology and also the legal processes/steps necessary for folks to obtain custody of their own child(ren) and/or child(ren) that is not their biological child\, in the context of family law.\nOur Parent Café is more of a facilitated discussion instead of one of our regular trainings/webinars\, Training Credits will not be available. \nThe Parent Cafes are a monthly\, relaxed discussion around Parenting Topics. Participants are encouraged to bring YOUR OWN ISSUES\, and gain insights and resources! \nDate:  July 15\, 2021\nTime: Noon – 1:00 p.m.\nSpeaker:   Emily Angel\, J.D.\, is the Director of the GAL Program at Kids’ Voice of Indiana. Before joining Kids’ Voice in 2015\, she worked as a staff attorney at Indiana Legal Services\, Inc. Emily graduated with a degree in History & Political Science from the University of Evansville in 2009 and received her law degree\, cum laude\, from the Robert H. McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis in 2012. A 2017 graduate of the Indiana State Bar Association (ISBA) Leadership Development Academy\, Emily is active in the ISBA\, where she currently serves as the Chair of the Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Committee. Emily is a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association (Indy Bar) and serves on the Indy Bar Professionalism Committee. She is also the Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Children’s Policy and Law Initiative.  Emily received the Hon. Viola Taliaferro Award from the ISBA’S Children’s Rights Committee in 2019.
