SUMMARY:Parents Café: Engage a Life to Save a Life
DESCRIPTION:Topic:  Engage a Life to Save a Life \nDate:  September 16\, 2021 \nTime: Noon – 1:00 p.m. \nDescription:  September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.  The focus of this discussion will be youth suicide and understanding how creating protective factors and normalizing the conversation around mental wellness may help to minimize the likelihood that young people feel disconnected from meaningful relationships.   Resources will be discussed to be made readily available for youth to easily seek professional help either anonymously or with the assistance of a supportive individual. \nOur Nurturing Parents Café is more of a facilitated discussion instead of one of our regular trainings/webinars\, Training Credits will not be available. \nThe Parent Cafes are a monthly\, relaxed discussion around Parenting Topics. Participants are encouraged to bring YOUR OWN ISSUES and gain insights and resources! \nSpeaker Bio: Jason Murrey is a husband\, father\, and a mental health advocate that has brought his passion for suicide prevention to the State of Indiana for the last five years.  Jason was the Indiana’s first full-time suicide prevention coordinator and worked tirelessly to help fund Indiana Suicide Prevention Coalition efforts across the state.  In 2019\, Jason became a part of the Department of Education where he focused on suicide prevention training for educators and ensuring that there were funding opportunities for student peer-led work through the department of education.  When Jason isn’t working towards ensuring education outcomes for all students\, he is working with mental health advocates in the veteran and first-responder community.  Jason enjoys spending time with his wife and four boys. \nTo Register:  https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZcofuqvqTssGtX0ZSaOqBHWOSfa6STP2lOZ \n  \n
