SUMMARY:Child Exploitation 101
DESCRIPTION:Child Exploitation 101 Training  \nThis interactive\, prevention-focused training is designed for community members\, professionals\, and nonprofit organizations who work with children\, youth\, and families. The session centers on building awareness\, dispelling common myths\, and strengthening participants’ ability to recognize\, prevent\, and respond to child exploitation within their communities.  \nThrough scenario-based discussions\, real-world examples\, live polling\, and guided reflection\, participants explore essential human trafficking concepts\, including:  \n\nTypes of human trafficking\, including labor trafficking\, sex trafficking\, and the commercial sexual exploitation of children \n\n\nThe prevalence of trafficking and how it occurs in both urban and rural communities \n\n\nWho is most vulnerable to trafficking\, how individuals are recruited\, and why leaving can be difficult \n\n\nCommon myths and misconceptions that often prevent identification and reporting \n\n\nRecognizing warning signs and indicators across various settings \n\n\nAppropriate response strategies\, reporting options\, and local/national resources \n\nThis training emphasizes awareness\, prevention\, and informed response rather than fear-based messaging.
