DESCRIPTION:Safe Sleep  \nTime: 1 Hour 30 Minutes  \nThis interactive\, prevention-focused Safe Sleep training is designed for healthcare providers\, early childhood professionals\, educators\, childcare providers\, caregivers\, and community members who want to help reduce the risk of sleep-related infant deaths. The session explores current safe sleep recommendations while providing practical\, evidence-informed strategies to create safer sleep environments and confidently educate families.  \nThrough scenario-based discussions\, live polling\, interactive activities\, and guided reflection\, participants explore essential safe sleep concepts\, including:  \n\nUnderstanding the scope of sleep-related infant deaths and Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID)  \n\n\nRecognizing risk factors that increase the likelihood of sleep-related infant deaths  \n\n\nLearning the American Academy of Pediatrics’ safe sleep recommendations and best practices  \n\n\nIdentifying safe sleep environments and common hazards that place infants at risk  \n\n\nAddressing common myths and misconceptions about infant sleep  \n\n\nPracticing effective\, nonjudgmental conversations with families and caregivers about safe sleep  \n\n\nConnecting families with trusted community resources and evidence-based safe sleep information  \n\nThis training emphasizes prevention\, education\, and shared responsibility while empowering participants to become confident advocates for infant safety.
