In addition to our own personal experiences of stress\, we often absorb the stress and trauma of others. Those who work with or care for children and youth are particularly vulnerable.  Yet\, we often overlook addressing caregiver stress\, especially prolonged and toxic stress\, as being foundational to supporting our children\, youth\, families\, and communities.  Through the lens of Mind Body Medicine\, this presentation will provide you with the knowledge and skills to support your own self-regulation and wellbeing\, both individually and collectively. \n  \nSpeaker:  Christy Gauss\, MSW\, LSW\, Ignite Wellbeing LLC \nSpeaker Bio: As a co-founder of Ignite Wellbeing\, Christy brings a depth of experience as a social worker who has dedicated her career to addressing child\, youth\, and adult wellbeing. Her strengths lie in collaboration\, building connections\, and big picture thinking. \nChristy lives in Indianapolis with her husband\, and they have two grown children. She is an advanced practitioner in Mind Body Medicine. She earned her BA in Political Science from George Washington University and her MSW from Indiana University. Christy currently serves on the boards for The Children’s Policy and Law Initiative and Better Youth Outcomes and believes that to foster wellbeing in our organizations\, community and world\, we must each begin by healing ourselves. \nAudience Type: All Professionals\, non-professionals\, caregivers\, foster parents\, parents (Must be age 18 or older) \nWARNING:  If you are attending this virtual training at home\, please be sure to either use headphones or be alone while attending. SUMMARY:PCAIN Parent Café: Be SMART - Gun Safety
DESCRIPTION:Title: Be SMART – Gun Safety\nDate: June 15\, 2022\nTime: Noon-1:00 pm (EST)\nDescription: The Be SMART framework is designed to help parents and adults normalize conversations about gun safety and take responsible actions that can prevent child gun deaths and injuries. \nThe Be SMART campaign was launched to raise awareness that secure gun storage–storing guns locked\, unloaded\, and separate from ammunition–can save children’s lives. Be SMART emphasizes that it’s an adult responsibility to keep kids from accessing guns\, and that every adult can play a role in keeping kids and communities safer. \nSecure — all guns in your home and vehicles\nModel — responsible behavior around guns\nAsk — about the presence of unsecured guns in other homes\nRecognize — the role of guns in suicide\nTell – your peers to be SMART \nOur Parent’s Café is more of a facilitated discussion instead of one of our regular trainings/webinars\, Training Credits will not be available. The Parent Cafes are a monthly\, relaxed discussion around Parenting Topics. Participants are encouraged to bring YOUR OWN ISSUES and gain insights and resources! \n  \nSpeaker: Becca McCracken is the Be SMART State Lead for Indiana. As a parent\, Becca joined Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America four years ago and has been volunteering in Be SMART ever since. Her day job is the Quality-of-Life Unit Administrator for the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office. She endeavors to help parents and adults take responsible actions that can prevent child gun deaths and injuries. \n  \nRegistration Link: https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZEude6ppzkqHdOyPFQTosUP9OpqM1HL4g-a

SUMMARY:No Small Matter - Lunch n' Learn
DESCRIPTION:Topic: “No Small Matter” \nDate:   May 9\, 2022\nTime:  11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.\nSpeaker:  Sarah Bailey\, M. Ed\, IECMH-E®️\, Infant Family Specialist\, Early Childhood Mental Health Mentor – Policy\, Director of Outreach and Sustainability at Infancy Onward\, \nMental Health America of Indiana \nSpeaker Bio: \nDescription:  No Small Matter is a feature-length documentary film and national engagement campaign that brings public attention to this vital question by sharing powerful stories and stunning truths about the human capacity for early intelligence and the potential for quality early care and education to benefit America’s social and economic future. This multifaceted project reveals how our country is raising its youngest citizens\, why making the most of this time in their lives is so crucial\, and most importantly\, what we can do to change the perception of when learning begins.  The first major theatrical documentary to tackle this topic\, No Small Matter\, is designed to kick-start the public conversation about early care and education. The ultimate goal: to produce an entertaining\, accessible\, and inspiring film that redefines the audience’s understanding of the issue and helps drive it to the top of the political agenda. Or\, as one advocate put it\, “not just to make a documentary about early childhood education\, but to make the documentary about early childhood education.” \nAudience: This training is appropriate for parents\, community members\, educators\, and professionals who work with children. \nA Survey will be emailed to you after the Lunch n’ Learn. Once you complete your Survey our office will email you the Training Certificate within 12-24 business hours. \nJust a reminder that if you register as a couple\, each person will need to complete an Survey to qualify for a Training Certificate.  If more than one registrant views the training from one computer\, the Host will ask couples to type their names in the Chat Box for Attendance purposes. \n  \nLink to Register: https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZ0kcemqqzMqEtZyBrIWpOJ763nzEQDl-BfC\nLink to see Movie Trailer:  NO SMALL MATTER (2020) | Official Theatrical Trailer – YouTube
