Description: Andrew Campbell is a family violence researcher, author, educator and survivor himself in childhood. His newly released book, Not Without My Pet, explores how pets are involved in family violence and the importance of including these companion animals in family violence prevention, detection, and intervention initiatives. For this discussion, Andrew will focus specifically on the critical role pets often play in the lives of children impacted by family violence. Andrew believes that you cannot best help human victims of abuse unless you account for and protect their trusted animal companions as well.
