Our Mission

Prevent Child Abuse Indiana (PCAIN) is dedicated to being the leading voice for preventing child abuse in all its forms across Indiana. We fulfill this mission by raising awareness, educating communities about solutions, serving as a trusted resource for families and organizations, advocating for stronger prevention policies, and fostering a statewide network committed to protecting children.

As a division of The Villages, PCAIN works as a catalyst for change, striving to enhance the quality of life for children and families.

Our Vision

Our vision is a future where every child in Indiana grows up free from abuse and neglect.

Since 1977, PCAIN has educated and empowered Hoosiers to prevent the devastating impact of child abuse. We collaborate with community, state, and national partners to expand knowledge, translate research into action, and develop policies and programs that prioritize child well-being.

Our Work

  • Educating families, communities, and policymakers on child abuse prevention.
  • Promoting positive attitudes, behaviors, and policies that value and protect children.
  • Supporting parents and caregivers to help them nurture and care for children effectively.
  • Raising awareness of child maltreatment trends to drive meaningful change.

PCAIN is guided by a diverse Advisory Committee and supported by an experienced team, including a statewide network of affiliated and chartered councils. Together, we can prevent child abuse and make Indiana a safer place for children to grow and thrive.
