Amanda Swert, MEd - Prevention Education Coordinator
Amanda is an educator with over 12 years of experience as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and professional development facilitator, including partnerships with publishing companies. She has served school districts across the Chicagoland and Dallas–Fort Worth metroplexes, supporting teachers, counselors, paraprofessionals, and administrators in strengthening instructional practices, increasing participant engagement, and building collaborative, growth-focused learning environments.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Elmhurst University and later completed a Master of Education in Educational Leadership with a focus on English Learners from Pre-K through Adult. Her academic training and field experience inform her ability to design effective instructional frameworks, support diverse learners, and lead high-quality professional learning.
Amanda is committed to creating meaningful, sustainable change in education. She focuses on building inclusive environments where all learners can thrive and supports educators through coaching, professional learning, and curriculum development. During her graduate studies, she received the Michael Feldman Leadership Award for creating and leading a literacy program that, for several years, provided free literacy support and essential resources—including meals—to children and their parents each summer across communities in Cook and DuPage counties. She also ensured that participating pre-service teachers gained valuable practicum experience and were financially compensated, securing grant funding to make the partnership sustainable and mutually beneficial.
A true Midwesterner at heart, Amanda was born in the region and now resides in Winfield, Indiana. In her free time, she enjoys life with her husband, their son, and their two pet parrots, embracing family moments and the simple joys of home.
