Firearm Safety Training

This interactive, prevention-focused training is designed for community members, professionals, and nonprofit organizations who work with children, youth, and families. The session centers on building awareness, dispelling common myths, and strengthening participants’ ability to recognize, prevent, and respond to child safety within their communities.

  • This presentation explores firearm safety, its impact on children and families, and prevention-focused strategies to reduce the risk of firearm-related injuries and deaths.
  • Participants will learn about safe storage practices, common risk factors, age-appropriate firearm safety education, and practical steps caregivers, professionals, and communities can take to create safer environments for children and youth.

This training emphasizes awareness, prevention, and informed response rather than fear-based messaging. Participants will gain practical tools to better identify risk factors, and understand their role in prevention and reporting.

Participants will leave with clear, actionable knowledge and resources that can be applied immediately in professional, volunteer, and community-based roles.

This training is ideal for:

  • Community members and caregivers
  • Civil servants and authority personnel
  • Educators and youth-serving professionals
  • Nonprofit and social service providers
  • Faith-based and community organizations
  • Program leaders and administrators
